Friends opened this at their 3/21/15 Malbec tasting. It had a deep, expressive bouquet of violet, black cherry, mocha, cocoa, plum and spice aromas. The palate was elegant and a little reserved with flavors of red currant, plum, mocha, cocoa and spice. The group’s average score was 88.5 points.

Clear and bright, deep ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is faulty and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of raw meat, leather, liquorice, anise, ripe plums, cedar and vanilla. There is some brett there. The wine is dry with a medium- acidity, medium fine grained tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body and medium intensity flavours of raw meat, leather, liquorice, plums and cedar. Medium finish.
It is an acceptable quality wine, it has a decent balance between alcohol and tannins, but in addition to the brett fault it lacks complexity and fruit concentration, and the finish could be longer. Drink now, not suitable for ageing, there is not enough tannin structure nor fruit concentration, and the brett will be more pronounced as the wine ages.

Thin, dull, very simple (particularly once it gets some air), unbalanced, fairly hot, leaves an alc. prickle on the tongue upon finish. What's the point of wine like this?
