This wine has improved over the last year. Great with Tuscan fare, but quite approachable on its own. Medium (+) ruby. The nose is clean, with medium plus intensity and complexity. Aromas of black fruit, red cherries and sweet spice, including clove and nutmeg, with a hint of tobacco and tea. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium alcohol (13.5%), medium acidity and medium (+) tannins. The mouthfeel is moderately smooth and the minerality is medium. This wine is medium (+) to full bodied and is nicely balanced. The flavor intensity is medium (+) as is the length of the finish. Drinking well now, but it has the potential for continuing to improve as it becomes even more integrated. This is a tasty treat every time I have some and is worth seeeking out.

Violet colored, fair amount of sediment. Earthy nose, with spicy meats and prosciutto filling the glass as well. Entrance is very similar to Chianti Classico, with undertones of minerals and rich cheese. Mid palate is impressive and brings a complex texture. Finish is overpowered by aggressive tannins, and the dryness is compounded at the end instead of flowing smoothly throughout.

Currently the only 100% Pugnitello, I am told. From a 3 acre plot. 'Little fiat.' Small berries. More aromatic than the previous Sangiovese and Bordeaux varietal wines. More dark fruit, clean and suave black fruit to the palate, but still some leathery notes. Some one said 'Malbec!'

Consistent with my other review. Ruby with purple hues, deep intensity, glass-staining. The nose is clean and medium (+) in intensity. The palate is dry, with medium alcohol at 13.5%, medium (+) acidity and medium (+) silky tannins. The polyalcohols are moderately smooth (+) and the minerality is medium. This wine is medium (+) to full bodied and is remarkeably well balanced. The flavor intensity is medium (+) as is the length of the finish. Drinking beautifully now, but likely to improve with one or two more years of ageing. This is a very elegant wine.

Dark red fruit. Black fruit, mineral and some pungent barrel spice. Cherry wax. Not too earth or leather. Some coconut oil aroma. Cocobutter. Well worth the $30. Medium acid, med tannin.
