At this stage the wine is rather faded. Good acidity and balance, just lighter than I remember. Was probably best upon release given the vintage. Love the elegant style.

Floral notes on the nose, also white pepper, and red cherry notes. Tart Michigan pie cherries on the palate, some earthy minerality, with back-end asperity. This has a cleansing finish, and reminds me a bit of a Savigny.

Under-ripe cherry, almost a cranberry taste, with a little bit of dirt. It took a little bit of time to get any more notes than just that Pinot Noir cherry that we all enjoy.
After an hour that dirt (which I enjoy) became more pronounced. On the palette the wine is bright in the middle and has a long finish. It does get better with time, however, when one purchases a Michigan wine one expects to PNP.

5/30/2014 - jpstough Does not like this wine:
Very tart and unpleasant. Maybe a bad bottle; usually good.
