I did not follow my previous advice. Opened another bottle tonight and its an hour decant was ready to go. Still the smoke and blueberry and some sweet fruit on the start. This was followed by a complex mix of delicious flavors.

Still pretty tannic. Blueberry, chocolate, and a bit smoke. I like it and wonder, what about that next bottle? I’m thinking give it another three years.

Stopped purchasing Turnbull after the 100 pt rating of the 2010 vintage (obscene price increase). One of my favorite cabernet producers; this didn't disappoint. Decanted for about 45 minutes before drinking. Good bit of black currant on the nose with a secondary note of blackberry and oak. Still a good bit of tannin that's nicely integrated into the wine - on the finish you can taste the oak with a subtle hint of sweetness. Very nice pairing with skirt steak. This one is ready to drink; likely has another 2-3 years of peak drinking before decline.

Lightly sweet, big fruity nose. Massive body and big tannic structure. A bit of alcoholic heat, and a fairly short finish. A bit of smokiness. 5+ years aging recommended.
