Black fruit on the nose with green vegetal matter creeping in after an hour of air. Rustic tannins, finishes a bit short. Early on the finish shows a pruniness that suggests it's past peak, but that disappeared after an hour. Wouldn't search this one out.

Showing perfectly at age 9 on the vintage, with smooth, round & sweet tannins giving structure to the integrated flavors of cassis and black cherry, supplanted by just the right amount of French oak and mocha. A real surprise from the cellar.

Disappointing for Turnbull. Faint hints of blackberry and tar on the nose, with a secondary note of menthol. Finish is very thin. Fatty steak helped pick up the wine, but the last glass without any food was tough to take down. I have consistently loved Turnbull Cabernet back through 2005, but this is the weakest one I've encountered in awhile. I stopped buying after the 2010 vintage 100 pt rating as they doubled the prices - this justifies my decision.

Definitely suffering from a weak vintage, good fruit, chewy tannins, acidic and a bit astringent. A bit of tea cinnamon and with underlying vegetal characteristics. Needs a couple years but I don't see this as ever being that great.

Great bouquet, and strong/pleasant pallet on the front end, but non-existent back end.
