Fabulous, why we drink wine, like falling in love the first time. 4 years in the cellar have wrought transformation. Beautiful dark garnet and so translucent, without the typical Syrah murkiness.
Aromas of refined dark chocolate and penetrating griotte (the wild morello cherry made famous by Chambertin), nicely woven together. A powerful but smooth, slightly chalky palate with lots of lift from the luscious, fresh cherry fruit. A little charcoal in there as well. No tar, or old world funk or other reductive notes. Grippy tannins and decent length. Very flavorful and refined overall, and seamlessly beguiling from beginning to end. This is really a classic. 5 + 15 + 18 + 8
My vote for AMV to continue to source fruit from Terra Bella. Andy's TB Grenaches have been consistently among the best in the state. Drinks so well now but should hold for several years.

I wish I could agree with everyone else's notes, but this bottle was not enjoyed by anyone. Bland and acidic. Very out of character for an AMV wine. Hope the next vintages are better.
