  • Drank with friends along with a 2009 Gramercy Lagniappe Syrah and a couple other wines, paired with lamb burgers. Although I significantly preferred the 2009 Gramercy Lagniappe Syrah overall, this wine was the better pairing with the lamb, in my opinion and in that of the group.

Overall, nicely balanced, but a little lacking in some characteristic Cab Franc notes that I enjoy. I could have used a little more bell pepper, for example. Not expecting this to get better over time, so little reason to wait to drink.

  • Followed over two nights, though it showed very little change overnight. A little more plush and velvety on night two. Dark, dense ruby color with a small amount of sediment and very slow legs. Bright and spicy on the nose, showing the high heat, with perfume and fruity incense sitting in the background. Medium weight with a good charge of acidity and big tannins that will hopefully soften in the future, but the palate really cuts off short with not much of a finish and the level of alcohol just kind of ruins the whole thing for me. Very New World and perhaps an ok crowd pleaser, but this is a style of wine that I hope to avoid in the future. 4+10+14+7= 85

  • Best Washington CF I've had. Black cherry fruit straddles the mid-zone between red and black fruit with good body, en pointe ripeness, light herbal notes and good structure. Should continue to improve. 'Drink latest' date moved out to 2022.

  • Big wine, big oak and from a big vintage. Initially ultra plush, it's lost the velour mouthfeel it had early on, and new gravel and iron notes are putting some layers in that big body. A friend and new world cab franc fiend actually wished it had more fruit, but it was just right for me.

  • Popped and poured. Very consistent experience from the last bottle. Nose had spring berry notes as well as that distinctive touch of jalapeno. On the palate there was espresso, roasted nuts and strawberries. Solid bottle of wine. Would purchase again.
