I have only ever had delightful experiences with Duckhorn and the horrid, musty aroma that rose from the bottle upon opening bode only ill will towards my palate. Against my better judgement, I actually let the foul smelling liquid enter my mouth hoping, I guess, that my nose was leading me astray. It was not. Another bottle bites the dust and ends up down the drain.

Had by the glass so not an ideal TN. The oak is quite pronounced at this stage a sort of dominates the nose. A sweet gentle feel to it that ends unfortunately with a bit of harsh and dry tannin. Good extraction, ripeness but on the young side, hopefully time will improve it but not sure at what cost? 86-87 for now

Great complexity and already approachable at this time. Undeniably, the Duckhorn flavors of rich and concentrated oak amidst layers of currant, cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla and plum with ripe, puckering tannins that typify its youthful character are present. This is complete and balanced with lively acidity. A great wine to have on weekends. Drink now until 2015.
