This wine had me in Pommard at first, then the warm fruit came across the palate, and here we were again in the new work. REcorcked at the winery in 2015. Fresh, and long. Not the slightest hint of dried anything. Textbook perfect Pinot Noir. Delicious.

This is very good, especially in what was considered a tough vintage. The nose has dried red currant, cherry liqueur, mushroom, forest floor, dried rose petal. The palate is light bodied, elegant, very feminine. It is classic Eyrie and I suspect this is where the 2011 is heading. The mid palate lacks a bit of concentration to make it outstanding, but overall quite good.

Tasted at the winery - pale garnet in color with a nose of earthy, mushroom notes with some underlying red pinot fruit, damp leaves, and a dried violet. The palate is delicate, elegant, classic aged pinot. Finishes with nice balance. Excellent, probably not going to improve further at this point so would prepare to drink in the next 1-2 years.
