  • Wasn't bad, but definitely the best out of the four wines enjoyed here. Stelvin capped. Decanted through a vinturi into a decanter and was almost immediately served. This bottle was more open and ready to go than any of the others. Had a traditional Napa floor smell of black fruit, with some smoke and a hint of earth. The wine was on the softer, lighter side of full bodied. The middle had an aura of earth and some spice. The finish was pretty much the same and the oaked tannins were enjoyable but contributed a little too much. Much more spice on the finish. This wine was OK, but didn't seem to have much personality. I think it was a bit locked up still, and I think that 2-3 hours of decanting would have uncovered quite a bit more in this one. At this price, it's a little disconcerting for what was delivered, and I look forward for this one to develop in the next few years. It is good, don't get me wrong, but there is nothing that sets it apart.
