  • A dry mavrodaphne from a winery which I respect for its commitment to traditionally made, terroir-driven wines from indigenous Greek varieties. This wine has big fans, some of whom happen to be friends of mine, and I regret to say that one more attempt from my side to try to understand it was unsuccesful. Dark garnet color. The nose is intensely funky and medicinal with iodine, band-aid, manure and pine raisin. The same flavors appear on the palate. Tannins are quite firm and acidity is med+. Aftertaste is long. A love it or hate it wine for sure. Sorry guys I am still on the hate it side...
