Another Italian singleton from my charity purchase of 48 random bottles. Opened 60 minutes before consumption. Cedary aromas of baked plum with smokiness. Flavour similar but rather dominated by the fine grained charred wood element. Pleasant enough if you like that sort of thing, but while quite racy I remain unconvinced that further aging would allow the fruit to come to the fore to lift this wine to nearer the 90pt mark. In my view needs to be drunk over the next twelve months.

Already showing the age, medium/full body. Good complexity, medium finish. Drink soon.

Anteprima Chianti Classico 2013 & Toscana IGT (50 TN inside!!) (Firenze (Italy) - Stazione Lepolda): 50% Cab Sauv., 25% Merlot and 25% Petit Verdot
Intense and complex nose, with some wild game hints over fruit.
Nice fruit at taste too, with silky tannins, although very powerful. Well structured, a bit short. Will get better.
