Inky dense purple. Blueberry, spice and leather nose. Full bodied, plums, blackberries, pepper, fully resolved tannins, tobacco, a bit of heat, lots of sediment, and a medium to long finish.

Intensely extracted, inky purple, showing few signs of age. Still quite acidic, but with the fruit and body to carry it. Strong oaky/vanilla nose and a long fruit finish.
I would serve this with flavorful grilled meat such as a marinated skirt steak or butterflied leg of lamb on a mesquite grill. Even an "everything" pizza would work.
Not sure about aging on this one. I don't think it is ever going to become elegant, so I'd be inclined to drink over the next few years and enjoy it for the fruity intensity it offers.

Ultra dark, almost pitch black. A really meaty wine, like seared steak. Dark and rich. Thick chewy tannins, that almost stick to the roof of your mouth. This is probably only starting to hit it's stride. The fruit is secondary, but an excellent wine.
