Opaque garnet purple with slight rimming. Nose of dark fruits, alcohol mineral. Tannins starting to soften. Palate is consistent with nose: blackberry, minerals and alcohol. This wine has another 10+ years to go.

Decanted for two hours. The depth, along with the expansiveness, are at the forefront. Blueberry cobbler, chalky stone, créme de cassis, lillies and roasted cashew. As the palate unfolds, this structured and amplification of stunning fruit is almost transparent and not shy. There’s enough backbone and acidity to show the ability to age. So stylish and confident. Drink 2020 - 2032.

This was so good that it inspired me to finally get around to contributing my first review rather than just being a lurker like I've been for the better part of a year. Balanced flavors of black fruits. Some black cherry, but more blackberry, cassis and especially elderberry. My 96 may seem over-the-top but is a point lower than the rating by the arguably most famous pro reviewer as is, or was listed on JC Cellars website. Drinking this was thoroughly enjoyable, but came with the regret that I only had one bottle. Hopefully the 2015 will be as good.

Pure blackberry jam. Not real complex though very tasty. High abv at 15.6% very well hidden under the fruitiness. Not sure worth the price but nice.
