Complex nose of earth, woodiness, tobacco leaf, red fruit and some cool spice. High acidity with low tannin reveals a medium body on the palate. High QPR considering the price and should be served with Italian style dishes containing tomato for the acidity. Also needs enough air.
Mature garnet red, turning to carmine. On nose nice complexity,a bit subdued; not so much "in your face" as most of the Sicilian reds drunk this week. On palate interesting and good complexity, good finish. The best red wine tasted and drunk during our week in Sicily. Most of the reds tasted have succumbed to "Parkerization"

Had it for dinner with a simple but beautiful pasta dish. First slightly closed but opens up with some time in the glass. Very interesting nose of red berries (red cherries, raspberries), tobacco, some of that smoky minerality (volcanic/hot stones) you only find in some of the wines from Campania and Sicily. On the palate there is some spiciness too. It's medium+ bodied and elegant, with medium-high acidity providing tension and medium+ tannin that is still a little rough around the edges but good quality good finish. A very pretty Nerello-blend from this great Sicilian producer at a reasonable price.

补个中文:这个真是好,香气丰富,泥土,木质,烟叶,红果,和一些清凉香料。高酸,低单宁,中等酒体,性价比很高,搭配意大利菜应该是绝佳的搭配了,特别是大量运用番茄的菜品。当然也需要一些醒酒过程来使他开放。

Nice juicy red with a bit of rusticity. Went great with veal marsala.
