This is just fantastic, old school, Chateauneuf... stoney and bloody fruity for miles and a dry crisp long finish I am really happy with this bottle and paired with fatty copa salami and some tomato foccacia it was super Wine continues to unravel in glass way way better than the browns are playing right now..... Great tailgate wine on a cold wet monday

Very good old vine (gold label) CdP from a great year and very reputable producer, excellent QPR and beginning to drink prime right now. Enjoyed with Kim over dinner and we both really liked this. Much better then the previous bottle I had tried before joining CT. Bright nose with just an initial hint of barnyard which blew away very quickly and tar, licorice and blackberry becoming primary. Very smooth and well integrated with no off tones at all, good mouthfeel and pleasant aftertaste. Well structured with well integrated tannins, good acidic backbone and primary flavors included cassis, terroir, smoke, black pepper and dark fruit. Not decanted but opened for about two hours. Highly recommend this and as noted above an excellent QPR.

A little underwhelming and overeverything. Not what I would have expected from a 2001 CDP. Licorice and dried fruit were a little overpowering and out of balance.

Light aromas of dark red fruits and spice. Earth-driven and lightly fruity --- but overall blunt and dull.
