Mature at this point, but still fresh - probably at or near peak or my palate. Nose raspberry, garrigue, licorice, meaty notes. Hints of pepper. Cocoa notes. Palate balanced for region - tannins largely resolved, and yes, a bit hot - but balanced by a certain acidic freshness. Oak influences are minimal, thankfully. Quite a long finish. Pairs well with a hearty lamb stew. finish long and fruit/mineral mix. One of the most favorable CdPs I've had in some time.

Slight nose of kirsch. Maybe a touch of licorice. Soft but pleasant mouth, ends with sweet mature tannins but also a bit of bitter cherry that adds interest.

Popped and poured. Drank half the bottle over 4 hours on day 1, then drank the rest one day 2. This has really gone into hibernation since first tried in 2011. Completely shut down on the nose. Second day was only slightly improved. Hold at least until 2017 before revisiting.

First bottle has definitely peaked. Tastes a bit pruned. Still worth drinking.

Starting to come into its own, but not at its peak yet. I'd still wait a couple more years if you are holding this.
