Very enjoyable Bdx. Decided to open a Bdx with smoked porkchop instead of a pinot noir. Glad I tried doing something different! This 2010 was ready. Pretty basic, but tannins had softened and wine was nicely balanced.

Clear deep red color. Young nose of cedar, plum skin, dark cherry, yeast, and black walnut. Dry and medium body, with mint chocolate chip, cherry, light smokiness, and medium-tart acidity. Somewhat closed at the moment.

At this point mediocre but decanting 48 hours helps. I may let the rest sit for another year.

thin and lacking body compared to other 2010 wines in the same price range, such as Lamothe Vincent Heritage.
