Medium-light maize color. On both the nose and the palate, this is dominated by a yeasty and oaky wood note. There are some other aromas of minerals, rubber, and such, but overall this is flabby, unbalanced, and a bit odd tasting. An uncharacteristic misstep from the typically consistent high quality I expect from Pichler.

Bit of dissolved CO2 and fizz at first. It's also quite reductive initially, but with time theres a familiar riesling-like quality to the nose emerging, lots of lemon preserve and citrus peel, very herbal as well with jasmine and tea-leaf aromas. The palate is quite saline and a bit soupy... Classic Grüner, white pepper, mustard seed and green mushy peas. Delightfully weird! Has a great length of flavour, but it's not a flavour I wanted to go back for again and again. Better with food.

White flowers and something green on the nose -- Motz said a "stagnant pool", and that's not far off, but it isn't a smell of rot; it's fairly appealing. On the palate, a combination of grapefruit, canteloupe melon, peach, a hint of yeast, and a bit of white pepper, with strong acidity. Good value for the money at about $30, and my wife likes it, so I should buy more.

Smelled like a stagnant saline pool...and I liked it! Also complex notes of carambola, under ripe persimmon, cashew fruit, and grapefruit. Gripping and gritty palate. At first piercing, then weighty and deep. Serious wine, great experience. Thanks Bajayngo.
