One Bottle Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): Beautiful full nose of old burg with mushroom and hints of Vosne spice. Yum, silky palate with terrific spice layered into aged red fruit and mushroom. The spice keeps getting more intense. Elegant and round finish. Impressive.

Heady, mature wine, with more earth-driven flavors and bright, red cherry fruit. It's still fairly firm, particularly on the well-structured finish, and despite fairly mature flavors it never quite broadened out the way I hope. Either way, an enjoyable bottle.

Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): The nose here has a good dose of that earthy Leroy character, but there's also that extra spiciness from Vosne that actually seems to be really prominent here. Or maybe that's just the power of suggestion on the label. The palate is still very fresh, but it definitely has a fair bit of autumnal character with the decaying leaves and such things. Good acid and fruit, this is certainly well within its drinking window, if not on the downslope.
