Medium yellow-gold. Stone fruit, citrus, some honey, almond and oak spice notes, with slightly pronounced acidity, a waxy texture and good length. Finished on an apple note. I did not like the wine at all at first, but it grew on me over time as it warmed up. Takes some effort to enjoy it on its own, better with food. On the edge of oxidation, drink now.

Whilst very enjoyable, I didn't find the complexity here of other vintages. The acidity dominated and didn't allow the fruit to feature much at all which made it some what one dimensional.

Tasted after the 2016 Estate SB and the 2015 Reserve. Surprisingly evolved in colour and on the nose, notes of white raisins, nuts, oxidation. On the palate a little unbalanced with sharp acidity. Knowing how well these wines normally age let's put it down to this specific bottle, but if you have it in your cellar, it might be worth giving it a try.

After a number of slightly disappointing South African white blends this is a seriously priced and very serious wine. In 2011 70% Sauvignon and 30% Semillon and beginning to drink well. Will be better still in 3-5 years time but really good already.

70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon. Racy citrus fruit, fresh, herbal notes as well. More body texture, but great fruit on the palate, really fresh, less mineral and saline compared to the 100% Sauvignon Blancs. Excellent.
