Tasting Bordeaux Blind (Edina, MN): Tasted blind with approx. 2h decant. Fantastic nose of candied violets. Rich and velvety on the palette, with notes of blackberry, black cherry and cranberry. Nice acidity and balance; velvety tannin. Drank so fresh I guessed this was the '05 Sanctus. My guess is that this is near its peak.

Lovely in every way: complex, smooth, suave. Just wish there were a little MORE in the way of fruit and finish. But what there was was first class. Drinking as well as it ever will right now.

Audouzed for 4+ hours. The healthy amount of tannins in there are pretty well integrated at this point. Medium-to-full body, medium acidity, nice balance. Typical dark, spicy, and slightly vegetal right bank nose. Black peppercorn, also on the palate, with pomegranate and cherry. This turned to be much more complex and enjoyable than I expected. Looking forward to the next bottle. 4 out of 5.

Not as lively, full or generous as my last bottle of this, but solid and pretty nevertheless.
