Thank Goodness for wine sieves as cork in this first of six bottles defied extraction. Decanted with sieve before dinner prep and wine was delicious and evolved nicely in glass. Initially very plummy. Still great for old wine lovers.

Better and richer than expected with plenty of fruit (for an 01) and a bit of interesting funk and leather. Overall, very (and unusually) sensuous. Drink NOW. One of the best 01's I've had. (This was a singleton, and I'm quite sorry about that!)

Very good. Well integrated tannins, soft; a little barnyard, mushroom, red currant, plum. Fruit is juts beginning to fade; I would suggest drinking these up by year's end.

aroma of day old tea which gave way to faint black fruit; the mellowed tannins were still felt but appeared to be fading and the baking spices were welcomed. Overall, I still greatly enjoyed this bottle of non-premier matured right bank.
