  Dark fruit is melding into the barrel flavors. Get a rich smokiness and a smooth finish. The structure is still present, but tannins are mild. If the fruit and acid were more balanced, I would rate this higher.

  Nice evolved flavors of eucalyptus and spearmint. More progressed than I expected but really solid! There is still some fruit but it seems to be in the background now.

  Based on previous TN of 7 months ago, did a PnP as food was being plated. Slightly pleasantly surprised as this bottle was fuller than previous, with a bit more fruit alongside the earthy notes, but still more than balancing acidity.
  Looking at past TNs, there does appear to be significant bottle variation, and bar belled ratings -- 1/3 between 80 & 84 and 2/3 between 90 & 94. Not what a winery wants to see.

  PnP, as I didn't want to lose any fruit to aeration. Didn't matter much however, because there was virtually no fruit to lose. We had this wine side-by-side with a bottle of the 2012 Anam Cara Pinot Noir Nicholas Estate, which had only slightly more fruit than this wine. Both wines did have lots of earthy notes, significant acidity, and at least a touch of tannin. These are very disappointing results given that these bottles were purchased at the tasting room after significant tastings and discussions with the owner.
