A bottle obtained directly from the winery. The original label says its a 2008, but someone changed it by hand to 2009. So I assume it is the 2009. Interestingly, no dominant brett influence at all, so very different to the bottle I tasted a few years ago. Black tea flavors, a faint scent of roses that mixes with light odors of goat shed or petting zoo, more earthy flavors than fruits, lots of alcohol with notes of turpentine and iodine, tannins are mostly resolved (for a Barolo), medium acidity. A slightly hot, but otherwise very good Barolo. Drink or hold. - 90 points

quick tasting @ l'Insieme Tour 2013: It is "back to brett" with Grasso's 2009 Barolos this year. The Barolo Turne seems even more bretty than the Ciabot Manzoni. Some really rustic oak dominates nose and palate, the fruit struggling to get through, the tannins seem ripe and almost elegant for Nebbiolo and the acidty is well-balanced. So really good structure and mouthfeel here, but again the brett is just too overwhelming for my palate. - 85 points
