  • A tad bold, but still quite good

  • Second wine of the evening. Probably didn't give it enough time to breathe. No notes.

  • Really enjoyed this bottle and would easily buy again. Dark color on the pour. Very aromatic with an earthly nose. Dense mouth feel with powerful flavors of blackberry and cassis with a backing of coffee and earth. Incredible finish that lasts for a while.

  • Deep ruby in the glass. Lovely fruit on the nose. Black and red currant with noble claret qualities, along with ripe black raspberry and other red and black wild berry fruit. Nice aromas as well of oak vanillin and just the slightest earthiness. Almost a hint of mint and basil. Nicely textured and well structured. It enters on juicy, fruit-driven flavors of jammy berry fruit balanced by nicely fine-grained tannin. Slight suggestions of white pepper and some roasted herbs complement the rich fruit. Finishes fairly dry but the acid keeps the mouth watering. This is nicely crafted to sip on its own, but will pair well with a variety of foods as well. The acidity should even pair well with lighter meat dishes and those with tomato-based sauces. Some hints of cedar on the finish and sweet tobacco. Nice wine.

  • Showing inky, dark purple with red hues. The nose was highly expressive with fruity, spicy notes, showing a mix of blueberry and cherry, cinnamon, and hints of coffee grinds, violets and minerals adding depth. It caressed the palate with soft textures, balanced acidity and flavors of ripe blackberry, a dusting of dark chocolate and spice. Sweet wild berries were met by a mouth-watering, bitter streak on the finish.

Big, bold, yet balanced. I would love this with BBQ, smoked meats or lamb stew.
