Brick red color. Very ripe fruit on the nose (I aerated this to get some aroma going), leaning towards plumbs. As soon as this hit my mouth I could tell I'd waited too long to open it up. I remember this wine being very fresh and vibrant in its youth, but now virtually any hint of that is gone. While not totally washed up, there's very little fruit left here. Rather, there's a strong sense of saddle leather in the mouth from a saddle that should be retired very soon.
