  • WOW! Lovely drinking aged zin. Not at all hot and spicy for me, but rather deep, balanced, and remarkably nuanced. Evolved substantially over the course of an hour. I only wish I had more. This is what zin ought to taste like.

  • Hot! Hot! Hot! Even though this wine weighs in at a labeled 14.7% alcohol, you better bring a fire extinguisher. Ok, I'm exaggerating a little, but this was unpleasantly alcoholic from the first quick sniff. The alcohol outraces the fruit (label says "it's the bottled essence of California", which is scary if true-as Robert Frost had it: some say the world will end in fire), and creates a distinctly harsh and uninviting overall impression. The finish lasts as long as and resembles that left by a shot of tequila. Generally speaking, nasty, but don't go by me.

  • RICH FRUIT IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR, BLACK CHERRIES, RASPBERRIES, AND PLUMS. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
