W braised short ribs. Lynn &T Nolan visiting. Had this after the 2008 (which had lost its luster). This was great and absolutely at the top, so better drink it now. Great body, fruit and length, superb with the ribs. Yummy.

Nearly opaque ruby – tight, funk, green bell pepper, black olive, black cherry, blackberry; double decanted and didn’t start opening up until two hours into the evening. Day 4: stewed strawberry, tobacco, cinnamon. Medium acid, medium+ tannins, 14.2% ABV, medium body, medium- finish. It was fun to follow its evolution. It paired beautifully with ribeye steak, both the first time I made it, and as leftovers!

Ruby hue. Spicy, bell pepper, dark fruit nose. Medium bodied, tobacco, nice body, enjoyable drinking. Still hanging in there. Worth drinking now.
