  • The deceptively modest Browns wines strike again. Purchased as a cellar door aged release so presumably was stored in very good conditions. Holding up well across all facets; nose, appearance and palate. Form dry red fruits on the nose with a core of sweet fruit. Understated but solid and classy. Palate shows excellent balance with tannin and oak very low in impact. The fruit shows excellent vibrancy and really doesn't look its 9 years of age at all. That said, not a lot of drive in the length and accordingly I can't think it would get much better. Some minerals to finish. Very fresh.

  • I brought two bottles back from Australia in 2004 and had one in 2005 (Christmas) and one in 2006 (Christmas). Truly one of the best wines I have ever had. Colour was a very dark red - darker than ruby, closer to brown. Initital taste was intense - oak, tobacco, black pepper. The spice died down but intense flavour continued but a pleasnt aftertaste. It's been a while since I enjoyed this wine but will always be looking for more. Perfect with a grilled steak.
