Popped and tasted and decided to decant. Takes a wile to open up. Aging well, no bricking. Wonderfully balanced palette with balanced acid and plenty of tanin giving it a long dry finish. Slight floral and herbatious notes. Nice round mid palette and building more complexity and a longer finish as it opens up.
After 1-2 hours decant greated by boysenberry and tobacco, and as it got to room temperature more pronounced alcohol/heat. Has been aging well!

Really opened up after a couple hour decant. Nose of anise, vanilla, dark fruit, and a bit of earth. Palate had a lot of fruit -- layers of black and purple. Tannins still quite present. Nice long finish.

In general, I think Nickel and Nickel and Far Niente are a letdown for the price. This bottle didn't change my mind. It's not bad but it's a pretty weak cab with no complexity and it's not going to get better. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be a $20 wine and pizza bottle.

Decanted for about an hour. This is one of our favorites from Nickel & Nickel. Very interesting how this has matured from the last time we enjoyed the same vintage a few years ago. Hints of dark fruit and vanilla on the nose. This is still a bold cab but more earthy now on the finish with age.

Nickel quarry vineyard Popped and poured. Chocolate, blue berry, cream lots of oak, bacon fat on the nose. Blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry flavors. Lots of fruit and cream on this wine. Nice wine, not really thought provoking, but enjoyable and delicious factor. Finish was a bit short. Medium acid, and heavy weight.
