Casual theme: Intense, floral aromatics on each fresh pour. Had slightly coarse tannins and cool fruit so guessed 2013 Volnay. ‘11 shrillness took over with air unfortunately.

Cherries galore - the last of our 6 bottles and a fitting end - with BBQ Irish Salmon it was perfect and I suspect at it's peak. If you have this in your cellar I'd drink up. Salut!

Late night at home. J came over. Drank over 1.5 hours from bottle. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium intensity, with aromas of fragrant light woody forest floor with small animal poops, stony minerality, dark berries, some meat with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), fine light low tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of stony minerals, brambly and mossy forest floor, dark berries, red cherries, dustiness and a touch of herbiness. Savoury meat and dried sour red cherries with more air. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Low key enjoyable wine. Easy drink - finished the bottle without much effort.

Muted nose.
A lot of tannin.
Hmm, breathing, letting it rise to room temperature...

Spice, slightly stemmy. Better with time but still some sharp edges.
