  • Tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent dark red mild bricking
-low key somber dark berry earth cassis black pepper faint reduction faint sweet oak
-med acidity, med/med- weight somewhat diffuse bitter earth mostly faded gentle burnt dark fruit, med tannins I believe mostly from the wood leave a wide swath across the palate
-near the end of its better drinking days, do believe the oak regimen has affected its ability to age gracefully

  • Tasted over 2 hrs
-dark red faint purple minimal clearing
-bright expressive plum and red fruits
-med acidity gives a certain freshness, med/med- weight med concentration, not much fruit left but a plum liqueur element some earth, noticeable wood and med/med+ tannins a bit dried out
-might still have some room for improvement if the tannins integrate more as there is room for more maturity development though the drying aspect is worrisome

  • Even ruby color. Medium to full bodied. Bitter cherry, licorice, and herbs. Lacks acidity. Very blockish and one dimensional, not a lot of finesse.

  • Even ruby color. Pure blackberry. Medium weight. Excellent black fruit, earth and anise. Nicely rounded, excellent acidity, seems just about mature. Better than last bottle in terms of adequate flesh and concentration.

  • Medium color. Strong earth tones and ground coffee. Middle weight, lean blackberry fruit that initially had a distinctly dry edge. This rounded out with air and began to show some anise notes. Despite the torrefaction scents, it really does not come across as overburdened by wood. Approaching full maturity but probably close to its qualitative peak.
