Pretty sure this is my last bottle of this wine, and what a wine it was. Still got 10+ years in the tank left, easy. We drank it fast. Gorgeous bottle.

Last time I drank this, I thought it tasted like lemon juice infused with razor blades. The razors have mellowed out. Two hours in, this became much more flavorful and enjoyable. This is my last bottle, and even though it's supposed to go on and on forever with time, I'm not sure I have the patience to wait another ten years for this particular bottle.

Lunch at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): nphase has never been a fan of this wine, which honestly, has always befuddled me a bit since he's typically a fan of that relatively lean style. I'm certainly less a fan of that style, but I've found Lilbert really hits the spot for me when I want a hipster low-pH kind of wine. This fits the bill perfectly -- and I'll thank nphase for bringing this to lunch. It's definitely got that heightened acidity, but at the same time, some lemon curd which to me seems to round out all the sharp edges. It gets better with air too -- I think this is one to cellar, since I imagine the age will help this mellow out.

A couple years of bottle age has allowed this to unfurl. Creamy, mineral nose. Lovely sense of richness with an elegant and mineral line. Complex but energised and fresh to drink. In a good place June '17.

Very yeasty. Drank w/ croissants for breakfast and it was a real interesting pairing. Like eating and drinking bread. Great way to start the day!
