The entry level for this producer, but a damn good glass of wine and fine example of Willamette style. Lighter crimson in color and on the palate, but that Burgundian austerity mixed with enough New World fruit to create an enjoyable experience. Thin on the palate and a little hollow in the middle, or this might have merited a better score.

Light crimson color. Austere, restrained fruit aroma on the nose - raspberry, black cherry, vanilla - even after 3 hour slow ox. Medium body. Distractingly tangy - almost sour - on the palate and short finish. Improved greatly with food. Tasted side by side with the Soter 2012 Reserve. No comparison - pony up for the reserve.

Purchased in early 2015 and stored well. Opened and set aside for perhaps 15-20 minutes before tasting. This is a very nice, medium bodied Pinot Noir. Very well balanced. Medium alcohol, excellent fruit, tanins well balanced. We enjoyed with dinner and a restaurant. Excellent value at $31. Drinking very well now.
