  • Deep purple. First impression was an earthy, musty smell. But weak mouthfeel with not a lot of flavor. Sour aftertaste. Must say I am not a fan of temperanillo but this wine was definitely not too my liking.

  • Tempranillo can be decieving - dark, luxurious purple color, but often lacking in body, acid, or flavor. I am a fan of the grape when it is used in blending with more flavorful grape, but rarely am I impressed when its used on its own. This bottle took my dislike of solo Tempranillo to a whole new level. There was little flavor of any time - only undeveloped tannins and an acid that ate at the roof of my mouth. I decanted for hours, with little improvement. I will try tonight to see if a day's worth of breathing has helped, but I am not hopeful. Perhaps I can make Sangria out of it...
