NobleRottersSydney - Wines under $30 (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {cork, 11.5%} [Graeme] Cost me $29 at auction, so fits in the theme. Made in an oxidative way from the Grecanico grape. Developing nose, murky gold colour. Mild, orange-smelling nose, Palate of prawn shells and grapeskins. Oranges and nuts on the palate too. Soft palate, mnedium weight, medium acid; has a low tannin skin sense too. Possibly a bit old; although not an out-and-out ‘orange’ wine I think it could do with a bit more freshness than this. On the downslope I think.

Creamy integrated with yellow fruit, yellow flowers. Roasted skin on almond. The acidity dips very low (like milk or sake). Bitter. I note the winemaking in amphorae. Strong remblance to some Qvevri whites. I like it (probably more than the score I’ve given) but didn’t realise what I was picking up. I think the Rami must be the Cos white that I’ve had before and was aiming for. 88 - 91.

Jesus. Who would annyone put such an stony and heavy plum smell and taste on a white wine. Their methods may work good on reds, but this is a waste of grapes.
Earthy, plums and an orange color.

{diam, 11.5} Deep gold with a touch of orange. Developing nose of grapeskins, dandelion, nuts (but not oak). Mildly bitter palate character, with skin and pip tannins, vague grapefruit and earth flavours, about medium weight, but hasn't got great length of finish. COREMILL's note from Sep-14 nails it for me too. The oxidative handling isn't extreme, but doesn't quite manage to add sufficient complexity to offset the commensurate loss of freshness. Doesn't quite fulfill its promise.

Somewhat dilute. Dark color but lacking a lot of flavor. Did not work with bottarga
