  • A wine of structure and strength. Layers upon layers of structure. The fruit is big, but restrained. Not at all jammy in the way the Ridge Pagani is. Bramble berry, rhubarb, dusty rose, plum and iodine. Next to the Ridge Pagani, this seems very restrained, almost tight. The structure of the wine suggests something more elegant and complex than the Ridge Pagani. A long finish of leather. Only a slight amount of sediment. 15.1% alc. With homemade pork barbeque for Independence Day. Recommended.

  • Almost a sweetness at this point - still delicious!

  • Novelty wine! Had bought this once from the winery and was waiting for an interesting reds night to pop this, but the right occasion never came. So popped with homemade pizza on a Friday night on the patio. Perfumed, Mt. Veeder-esque in that respect. Softer mouthfeel than many zins, I probably held this 2 years or so too long. Black plum, red cherry, bit of black olive and oregano? Drink now.

  • Popped and poured. This is a cherry-red wine with a nose of rosehips, fruit pie, pepper, and a slight touch of heat at the end. In the mouth, this is brambly with lots of sweet fruit, all of which carries through to a sweet and slightly scratchy finish. Overall, this is a nice expression of Zin; it is wild and hearty, but still enjoyable. Add meat and enjoy. 90 points.

  • Wow, what a different wine from Wine 1. Rhubarb, cherry, coffee, pomgranate and mocha on the nose and palate. Coffee and mocha carries the finish. This wine is much more structured than the other wines; loads of structure and some pepper on the finish also. This must be the L-M. It’s almost too young still, but fun to drink. Most of us preferred this wine over all of the rest ranking it either as first (4 of us) or second (one of us). Some slight sediment. 15.1% alc. Recommended and leaning toward Highly Recommended. All wines tasted with homemade dry rubbed smoked pork shoulder BBQ). 05.28.16 with good friends to celebrate Memorial Day holiday.
