  • This was a fine bottle of Loire rose, but certainly unremarkable. And "easy sipper" that I liked but would probably not purchase again.

Plenty of minerality, both in the nose and palate, and some peach as well. A bit of lime and lemon zest on the nose, give way to a bit more citrus in the mouth and some light strawberries. A bit of a creamy texture and a slightly unpleasantly bitter finish. That's about it.

The main detractor for me with this wine, like with so many others, was the acidity. There was some present, but it needed more and was certainly not in great balance. I would have liked a brighter mouth to balance the creaminess in the texture.

Would drink now. Not a rose that will last.

  • This bottle showed a lot more pepper, especially on the finish. Several tasters said it was like cracked pepper on the palate. Still, I like that. And there's fresh acid and lots of strawberry fruit to back it up. At the end of the day, it's a light, fresh wine, but if you like some herbal kick to your rose, seek this out.

  • Rosey peach color. Nose is a little tight, but notes of saline, mineral, peach, strawberry, and fresh herbs were coaxed out with swirling and air. Medium body, acid, and length, with flavors of strawberry, rose water, lime, and mineral. Shelf taker said to pair this with pepper-crusted tuna over arugula, cherry tomato, and goat cheese gouda salad with sea salt, which we did, and low and behold, it was spot on.

  • A Saturday of 2012 Wines: Crisp and showing some minerals, this rose shows wild strawberry, rose hips and some herbal-tobacco aspects. Love the acid.

  • Saturday (Washington, D.C.): I've enjoyed previous vintages of this wine, and 2012 is slightly below the 2011 and 2010 for my palate, at least with this bottle. Wild strawberry on the nose. The palate shows tangy acid, strawberry, rose hips and a hint of green grass, almost like a vine of sorts. Interesting. On a hot day, this could cut through some goat cheese and be delicious.
