First experience with this wine, so I've got no frame of reference for the norm, but I was excited to try it. The cork was stained almost all the way up, probably more than I've ever seen before, and it came out very easily—I actually thought it broke at first. The fruit is very subdued and I'm getting some oxidative notes, and none of the sweetness or richness I'm reading about, so perhaps this bottle is not representative. That said, it is not drinking tired or unenjoyable, and I actually think having it open a while has helped it out some.
Rich golden color. Aromas of Calvados, saline and nuttiness like maybe sliced almonds predominantly, along with a little wet slate, herbs, and brused apple. Fullish body, bright acidity, good length, and flavors of peach, tangerine, grapefruit, honey, herbs, and minerals. A little bitterness on the back end. Pretty good in the end actually. Now I'm interested in trying another to compare.

Well, this looks to be coming to the end of the line. Oxidized/ mature flavors including bitter almond, tart peach, and overripe apple. The acidity is decent, though the finish is bitter and the alcohol is sticking through somewhat. A nice lesson in Verdicchio nonetheless, and still a good food wine.

Light-medium gold color. Nose of apples, flowers, grapefruit, lemon, oak. Medium - full bodied, but not as intense as past vintages I've had such as 2007, but beautifully balanced full flavored wine! Long finish! Really an impressive wine!

Again, a good wine. Love the aromas of almond, haystack, dried apple, and honey on stones (is that a thing?). Great character. Drink over next 5 years, though I think it's great now.

Dark, full body. Nutty, herbal, mineral. Mature. The citrus I noted last time is gone. Interesting.
