Portuguese Table wines (Ray's Home): $16. A very nice white. I bet it was a bit better a couple of years ago but still reasonably fresh and vibrant. Light to medium gold in color. Slightly oily texture. Good acidity. Limes on the palate with nice minerality. Strong lime on the finish. This would work well with food and please most white wine drinkers. A blend of Antão Vaz, Arinto, Alvarinho, a couple of new varietals for me. Cool.

A sweetly floral nose on top of lime, chalky minerality and a pleasingly snappy and slightly bitter finish make this a lovely match with garlic/cumin/paprika shrimp over angel hair pasta. I would have taken more notes, but the bottle was empty by the time we finished our plates, which I think says it all. One of those amazing pairings that doesn't illuminate, broaden or deepen either the wine or food, but just makes both so much better.

I love this wine. Too bad I have no more and I can't find it anywhere in the US anymore. It paired beautifully with Black Beans and Shrimp.

Very tropical wine with hints of hemp. Exotic almost to the point of a Torrontes with a luscious and intense complexity.
