Drinking beautifully right now. Nice balance of cherry and strawberry fruit with a hint of tartness - more so than a typical Zin and not as "jammy". I liked this vintage better than the 09 I had.

This one followed a '10 R Foley The Griffin during a dinner party. The Amapoloa Creek was drinkable but harsh and way too muscular in contrast to the smoother Griffin. I have enjoyed previous vintages of this wine but this one was to rough and spicy for me. I am giving it the benefit of doubt with no score, I will give the other bottle I have at least another year to compose itself and smooth out the rough edges.

Anything Goes When Thai Food and Wine Collide - NYC Wine Tasting Group (Kuma Inn, NY, NY): The 6th bottle of a 7 bottle tasting. Smoother than last Amapola opened back in October, remains muscular, the spice is much more subdued. Presence of blackberry, the fruit had a hit of maturity, enough to make the wine more interesting. Ready to drink IMHO.
