  • Harsh. Fudge and barn straw on the nose. Prune and cedar in the mouth. I'm a fan of most of their other wines, but this was literally undrinkable.

Let it breathe in the glass for about an hour.
Slightly closed down maybe at this stage? Some purple and blue fruit on the nose - candied in style. Very little bit of spice - not super exciting.
Palate is fine. A little bit one note again. Shorter finish. Will have to come back to this down the road. Nice acidity and juicy quality that's tasty.
Just lacking character, depth and complexity I expect from K wines and a bottling at this price point.

  • Huge nose of ripe rich blue and black fruits, toasted oak, pine needle, lavender. Rich, broad and tannic on the palate. Very hot on first few sips. A little clumsy, lacking in balance. The tannin smoothes out after about an hour in the bottle and the heat settles down a bit too.

I really don't get these wines. High alcohol, rich, and overpriced. This is overrated at $70/bottle.
