This aged very nicely. Apples and brioche on the front with some nice minerality on the back end. Good acid profile leading to some tartness on the finish.

Good gravy, reading the community's notes I can't believe I tried the same wine. With air and warmth it revealed some of the below mentioned spice, maybe even autolysis, but this wine is about as closed a Champagne as I've ever had (classic 98?). Intensely minerals, and little else. And still it was given top honors at our holiday Champagne tasting, besting two Lassaignes, two Diebolt Valois, a Picard, a Louis Martin, a Bonnaire, a Larmandier Bernier 00 (in a leftover Club bottle, but not a Club bottling), and Drappier Non-Dosage. Not a crowd pleaser in my mind, but it did.

Medium gold in the glass, this Champagne was a disappointment given the usually accurate writeup in the Terry Theise catalog. Effervescent, this was a wine that seemed more heavy than full bodied and was very heady from an alcohol perspective. Medium length finish. Maybe I just caught it at a bad moment in it's evolution? 50+11+11+7+7 = 86(+?)

An excellent Champagne. Great nose of toast with hints of fruits and minerals. A very smooth and elegant champagne. Probably one of the better ones that I can remember.
