Pale garnet colour. Clean nose displaying expressive aromas of ripe strawberry, ripe dark cherry, lavender, violets, cedar and hints of anise.
Light-bodied and dry with a nervy acidity, there's tension in the palate as well as harmony provided by its juicy flavours and soft silky texture. The finish lingers showing elegance and completely.
Quite a nice wine, a very interesting and surprising light interpretation of Blaufränkisch.

A very pinot-like expression of blaufränkisch - cool red-berry aromas and forest herbs, with a dash of red-fruity syrah. The oak is more pronounced this time around - the first nose offers a layer of vanilla, sweet spice and sandalwood. Tastewise light-bodied, lean and slender, with quite intense flavours, fresh acidity, elegant structure, polished oak texture and a hint of herbaceaous bitterness in the finish. It developed well overnight, and put on a bit more weight and tannic grip.

Really elegant burgundian nose. Sour red cherries and forest berries, with a floral component. Distinctly mineral notes, with a herbal and tea-like edge. Compared to their basic '11 Carnuntum bottling, the '10 Spitzerberg is cooler and more slender, yet more concentrated and precise in its chalky mineral and acid profile. The tannins are light and fine, without any disturbing bitter greenness, the finish pure, salty and cleansing. A finessed expression in this somewhat difficult vintage, with superb drinkability. Will keep and develop over the next three to five.

Lovely BF, more concentrated than the basic one from this producer. The aftertaste was quite short though
