This was super. Drunk as part of an insane line-up of all Puligny Montrachets at 67 Pall Mall. This was still fresh with great balance. Not reductive or lean but pretty full. Really super

Inglorious Batards (Noreetuh restaurant, Manhattan, NY): Darker in color than the Pernot. Caramel, lemon, spicy, sweet. Palate shows lemon and spices, rich, big delicious. Better than the nose. There is some oxidation but there is also good acid and verve that builds towards the finish and also with time in the glass. This felt more advanced than the Pernot, and the nose showed that more - definitely a richer style than the Pernot, but the crowd was sure this wasn't premoxed, just somewhat oxidized from age. Nose - 4.5-5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20.

This wine was loaded with fruit and had a big dense and rich glycerol mouth feel. The fruits are riper and more layered than the Meursault. Great stuff.
