Cooked fruits, cacao, figs, and roast meats. Quite a calm and dignified bottle that lacks some of the more ferral qualities I've had on other bottles. Slight volatility on the finish, but a very pleasant wine.

Dried blood, roast meats, and stewed prunes. This has lots of character, delightful texture, and a nice balance between energetic and broad. There is just a touch of volatility on the finish, but I wouldn't say there is alcoholic heat as such. This element seems to vary so if you're sensitive to a touch of heat be aware. In a lovely spot for my palate.

Strong alcohol on this really turned me off. There wasn't much nuance in the flavors, which was sad, since I have really liked a previous vintage. It was overly fruity, without much differentiation over time. I had a hard time pairing this with anything (we had manchego, parmesan, pecorino, sweet salami, and peppered salami - worked best with the manchego).

Consistent with previous note - the volatility on the finish really does vary with these.

Big purple, fruit forward lavender, lavish wine. A bit over the top for my taste, but I can imagine it appealing to some.
