  • Brown-mustard core, clear meniscus, pale gold towards the rim. Far less dark than most 20yo Madeira, owing to no caramel being added for colour. Lemon juice, orange rind and smoke on the nose. Such a silky entrance, the midpalate has a really beautiful and pure pandan leaf note (think a chiffon cake) before a fine acidity and bitter twist draw the wine to a close. Good length, medium-bodied for a Malvasia.

A bit of a chameleon, this one - wouldn't necessarily categorise it as a dessert wine like a Blandy Malmsey, it is less viscous and less noticeably sweet than the usual Malvasia. Excellent.
