Given some other reviews, I can only presume that a few years in the cellar have made a difference. Very expressive nose of plum, cedar and spice. On the palate, this is leaning more "old world" than "Super Tuscan", but just leaning. Red & dark fruit with dusty tannins, a touch of tar and leather, and pepper on the med to long finish. Balance improved with 30 minutes air time.

Decanted several hours. Has a *hint* of that old world funk otherwise tobacco leather dark fruit flavors. Well structured, full bodied but not bombastic. Some peppery bite noted. Definitely requires food, paired brilliantly with bolagnese ragu.

This wine will definitely benefit from a few hours out of the bottle, Within the first couple of hours, there is a strong minerality to the taste. It moderates a bit after 2-3 hours in the glass, and allows more of the characteristics of the grape to come through. For a syrah/super Tuscan, we did not find the density or lushness that was described by Wine Enthusiast.

Decanted for several hours. Nose restrained more red fruit, raspberry, with a funky earthy scent. Palate is med to full with a tart mid-palate. This is my first Italian Syrah so perhaps I was expecting for CA style. This wine was nice to try once, but I will not repeat. 5,13,13,6=87
