Dim Sum Club at Royal Pavilion (Royal Pavilion, Park Regis Hotel, Singapore): I have not had a good old Aussie Shiraz for some time, and this really hit the spot. It had a beautiful nose, with sweet blueberries and gentle floral notes seasoned with peppery spice and minty eucalyptus notes. The palate was all soft and velvety, with a gentle infusion of spice nestling amidst ripe blueberries and boysenberry flavours. Little notes of eucalyptus and mint and nice earthy shades carried the wine into a nicely balanced finished. This was drinking beautifully well. Very yummy.

Bannockburn Vertical Tasting - Chardonnay, Pinot & Shiraz (Royal Automobile Club, Sydney): Prominent white and black pepper as well as earth, herbs and spices on the nose. Again, currently drinking at its peak with integrated tannins and oak and the structure to hold this peak for a few years to come.
